First class degree in Childhood studies/Child Psychology.

​

level 4: Child psychology and Counselling.

Level 3 Elklan Communication Friendly Setting.

Level 3: Designated Safeguarding lead.

Level 3: TAQA (Training , assessment and quality assurance)

I am a Curiosity Approach accredited setting.

​

​

IN  2026 I was proud to be awarded an MBE for Services to Early Years Education

 

I have been a Registered Childminder since 2001 and have four Outstanding inspection grades.

I now provide wrap around and holiday care.

​

I was the Childminder Essex lead for the Department for Education's Covid Recovery Plan- working with a group of passionate professionals to mentor fellow childminders.

​

I am now the Childminder Partner for the Reachout Stronger Practice Hub, delivering webinars, workshops and talks , across Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Thurrock and Southend. 

​

As part of this role I also provide bespoke support and CPD to early years settings. 

​

I am also a qualified assessor for Early Years Further Education courses from levels 2-5. and teach level 3 course, including "Preparing to Work in Home Based Childcare"

​

I provide a safeguarding investigation service for small early years settings.

​ 

When not working, I have a busy family life with my grandchildren. I am also a director of a local community cafe and community bike hire scheme as well as co-organiser of Colchester Kidical Mass (family bike rides)

In 2015 I was named "Essex Childminder of the Year"

In 2025 I was named as one of the UK's top "Women in cycling" by Cycle UK.
